Thanks to everyone for their assistance in finding my Elen journal. I’m happy to say that it has been found! My world can revolve again, and my heart has calmed down. I am more of a spiritual person than a religious person. I was raised as a protestant. So when two friends suggested praying to St. Anthony (one being tongue-in-cheek), I thought, why not? I did so. Fifteen minutes later, my husband Rob found the journal in an unlikely spot. I have a very bad habit of forgetting to zip up my backpack. This habit has been rectified. Apparently, when I came into the house and slung my backpack from my shoulder, the journal flew out and behind a box and furniture away from where I put the backpack down. It was pure serendipity —or St. Anthony —that helped Rob locate the journal. What a relief after frantically crossing between states and looking for it in nooks and crannies in Wilmington, Delaware to tearing apart my house.
The first Elen book is coming along — slowly. I have my journal and Doric dictionary by my side. I have Google open to check facts. Slowly, slowly, word by word, sentence by sentence, the book is building.
