Words astound me. Books leave me in awe. How is it possible to continue to have wonderful stories written using the words, the very same words, that have existed for thousands of years? Sometimes, I wonder, as I write, have these words been said before in the same way in another book? If so, when? And in what language was it written?
As writers keep on writing, they let the soul and spirit of words take over. Ray Bradbury’s quote, “Let the world burn through you. Throw the prism light, white hot on paper,” is the perfect description. Words take over the brain. They spill out via pen or computer. It’s difficult to stop the white heat of writing. When you do, you are a vessel, scoured by fire and ready for the next spark. We need to keep writing.
