It has been a subdued autumn with muted, quiet colors. The air has turned colder, but we did not have a hard frost to turn on the switch to change the leaves to brilliant, bright hues. The color is there, just quieter, and more at peace with knowing winter is on its way.
November is just around the corner. Some people tell me they hate November, calling it a bleak, cold, and depressing month. I find it just the opposite. November has always been a favorite month of mine. I love the stark contrasts of the vistas with tree skeletons reaching to passionate skies and the colored leaves swirling in a flash mob of brightly colored dancers blowing along before they turn brown and skitter into resting piles beside roads and nestled in crevices in yards and around trees. As we draw more inside with the colder weather, our perspective of the world takes a different bent as we begin to think hibernating thoughts.
