Scotland 2025 – Day 3
What a SPECTACULAR day! Our friends Kat (TravelKatTours.com) and her husband Chris were incredibly kind in picking us up in Portobello and ferrying us to our second stay in Cawdor, Scotland, UK. Along the way we stopped by Braemor near Balmoral Castle, stopped to view Braemar Castle, the Singing Stones, the Lecht Mine for Manganese (for painting the bottoms of boats), and answering millions of questions as we headed to Elen country. Our second stay is like a home out of one of our favorite UK television programs —Escape to the Country or HGTV. I have stars in my eyes and feel as though I’m walking in a dream. The next few days, we will be crawling about the spaces where my character Elen lived and breathed. James is talking me into a three-book series now…just saying.
My homework tonight is to begin writing the postcards to our lovely donors and reading about the Jacobite cause in Deeside. The concept of the book is changing a wee bit, but is so much better.
SQUEE — I walked on a moor today! Shades of my all-time favorite book The Secret Garden. The heather was blooming and wild sheep were roaming. It’s a lovely, lovely dream of a visit to Scotland. I am already ready to return to explore more and visit friends. Until tomorrow…
